We recommend renting a car and driving south along Highway 1 for breathtaking coastal views or taking US-101 for a faster route. You'll cruise through Carmel, Santa Cruz, Half Moon Bay, and Big Sur.

From LAX (Los Angeles International Airport):

Ragged Point Inn is about 3.5-4 hours north (approximately 210 miles) via car. If you rent a car at LAX (recommended), you can drive north along US-101 through Malibu, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Pismo Beach to San Luis Obispo, then take Highway 1 on the rugged coastline and stunning views for the final leg.
